The first time I made it to the top of this vantage point was after a very long and strenuous up hill hike. What I didn’t realize as I was making this trek by foot with my camera and tripod in tow, was that the end of the trail would present me with paved roads that make the park accessible by car.
Known by locals as being the Top of The World, it’s official name is Alta Laguna Park and it rests at the top of one of the highest hills in Laguna Beach. With sweeping views of the Pacific Ocean, this is one of the best places to be for watching a beautiful sunset or even a sunrise. On crystal clear days such as this one, Catalina Island will look so close you that you’d swear it’s a stone’s throw away.
