Since being built in 1903, the Huntington Beach Pier had been destroyed and rebuilt a number of times due to heavy storms. In 1914, when the pier was rebuilt after a damaging storm, it stood as the only concrete pier in the United States. The pier in it’s current form, was designed to replicate the architectural form of the original concrete pier from 1914, and was reopened on July 18th, 1992.
