After climbing 387 steps to the top of the Notre-Dame Cathedral in Paris, I was presented with beautiful sweeping views of Paris that would make an elevator ride to the top of the Eiffel tower seem a bit blasé. Looking out to the north is a spectacular view of the Basilique du Sacré Cœur sitting at the top of Montmartre.
If you do decide to make the trek to the top of Notre-Dame, don’t wait until the last minute to get there. They close the top early and long lines can queue up during peak travel.
