Going to the Orange County Fair is an annual tradition that my wife and I enjoy. This year was a bit special because my photos of the Alcatraz Hospital Ward and the cabins at Francis Ford Coppola Winery were on display in the photo gallery at the fair.
Of course it wouldn’t be a typical trip to the fair if I didn’t have my camera and tripod with me too. Walking through the section with all the carnival rides is more exciting for me than actually being on the rides because of all the creative photo opportunities. After capturing the cliche shot of the Ferris Wheel, I carried on and discovered this interesting ride. It’s always good to have an idea in your mind of what you want to photograph, but it’s also good to make time for exploration to see what opportunities present them self along the way.
