Corona Del Mar, California

I've been on a kick lately to shoot seascapes. Ever since I was a kid I've always spent a lot of time around the coast. It's a very therapeutic experience for me, especially after spending a long day in the office.

This seascape of Corona Del Mar is the first in a series of shots from this beach that I'll be posting in the days to come. The rock formations create so many amazing photographic opportunities.

I always get nervous that the waves crashing against the rock formations will be powerful enough to soak all my camera gear. I've seen some pretty big waves crashing up against the rocks but so far I've been lucky enough to stay dry.

This shot was captured with a couple of different filters. I used a screw on circular polarizor combined with a Lee .9 graduated neutral density filter. Since the Lee filter foundation kit doesn't attach to other screw on filters, I had to hold the Graduated ND filter against the circular polarizor with my hand. Many shots were ruined by my fingers being in the way but I did manage to get a couple without them making an appearance. Some day I will invest in the oh-so-expensive Lee circular polarizor that was designed for the Lee foundation kit. Minor color level adjustments were then made in Lightroom.

As always, hit me up in the comments if you have any questions or feedback you'd like to share.
